Richard Csavoy

Throughout his 32 years of teaching art to middle and high school students, Richard enjoyed the fact that each day was different from the other and that the energy that his students brought to life could be channeled into creative activities. He retired recently and, after enjoying an autumn vacation for a refreshing change of pace, has been spending much time and energy in his ceramic studio where he creates functional stoneware pottery. This is not a new activity as he has been making and exhibiting pots for more than 25 years.

He has a decidedly non-elitist attitude towards art. As Richard says, “I would like to see many people get their hands on an artist’s work and use it in everyday life. What better way to project creativity than to share it with as many individuals as possible?”

Csavoy’s work will be on exhibit at William Lemke’s Studio during the Tour.
